This charming vintage 1940s cottage is one of the original homes built in the beach community that would become Michiana Shores. Attracted by a beautiful combination of woods and lake, residents from Chicago, Indiana, and Michigan have made their way to this serene spot for rest and relaxation for many years. Today, the cottage has been updated to provide the cozy comforts you desire, while maintaining the knotty pine interior and welcoming feeling of a traditional cabin in the woods. Curl up in the main room by the two-story fieldstone fireplace with a lofted ceiling. Enjoy drinks on the screened patio or by the backyard fire pit table. Take a stroll on the gentle trails to watch the sunset on the lakefront, possibly spotting families of deer foraging among the trees or drinking from the creek. Experience the calm, quiet breeze of a warm summer night in the woods, or turn on the central air conditioning and relax in total comfort. The Indiana Dunes and all the wonderful offerings of Michigan's Harbor Country are close by, making this your ideal getaway.
We kindly request that guests refrain from hosting large parties or family gatherings out of respect for the neighboring homeowners, many of whom reside here year-round. By fostering a sense of harmony and consideration, we can ensure that everyone enjoys a peaceful and rejuvenating stay.

This property is well-maintained and equipped for the comfort and convenience of our guests. Our vacation rentals include well-equipped kitchens, living, and dining areas. Linens and towels are provided. Homes have washers and dryers, a dishwasher, central heat and air conditioning, cable/satellite television, DVD players, and high-speed Internet service.
We ask that renters bring condiments, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, extra toilet paper, and convenience items like plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and zip-lock bags. We do not resupply anything during the stay. We provide two rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, 2 rolls of paper towels, 4 garbage bags, and hand soap in each bathroom so plan according to your needs.
This property is Dog-friendly. A non-refundable fee per stay, per dog ( 2 dog max) is assessed during the booking process.
Minimum Age Limit for Renters: The guest signing the rental agreement/contract must be 30 years of age or older (ID at check-in required) and must be responsible for the group during the entire time of the stay.
Maximum occupancy restrictions: The number of guests at any WAYA-managed property can not exceed the maximum occupancy number (or sleeps number). This includes invited guests, friends, or additional family members. Events, parties, or family gatherings are not permitted without express written permission prior to booking.

Cancellation Policy
The deposit will be fully refunded if the reservation is canceled at least 60 days prior to the agreed-upon arrival date. If the cancellation is received between 60 and 30 days before the agreed-upon arrival date, an amount equal to 50% of the total rental fee will be charged. No refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the agreed-upon arrival date. Additionally, there will be no refund in the event of an early departure.
Deposit Policy
At time of booking a 25% deposit is required to secure reservations, calculated as 25% of the nightly rate, taxes, and cleaning fee, minus the damage insurance. Damage insurance is charged in full at time of booking, making the total deposit equal to 25% plus the damage insurance. These fees are automatically charged on our end to your card on file at time of booking. The final payment is due 30 days before your arrival date. Guests can pay the final payment using the credit card on file, Venmo, or Zelle. If paying with the credit card on file, an additional 3% Convenience Fee applies. Please be advised the card on file will be charged to include the 3% Convenience Fee if payment is not received 30 days prior to your arrival/due date. To avoid the convenience fee, guests may use Venmo or Zelle, as long as payment is received before the 30 day automatic billing date.

"Great Get Away"
The cottage was so comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially liked the screened-in back porch, it was lots of fun watching the hummingbirds, chickadees, tufted titmice and nut hatches at the feeders. All the deer in the neighborhood were also a joy. Even had one at the feeder one morning. Very peaceful area with lots of areas to walk and enjoy. About a 10-minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend!
"Coziest Cottage Ever"
This sweet log-cabin style cottage is sure to please. It has the vibes of a 1950s lake home in a quiet neighborhood. We celebrated our 20 year anniversary there and were pleasantly surprised at how charming it was. We especially loved the loft and screened-in porch. The fireplace was cool too! (You have to find your own logs if you intend to use the fireplace).

This cottage home was perfect for the two of us. All the amenities we needed were provided, the furnishings comfortable and location was the best. This cottage and the surrounding neighborhood was a peaceful, reflective place to return to from our day outings. We loved it!

"Perfect getaway for our family of 5"
Our family of 5 (kids are 5, 4, and 2 yo) had a wonderful time at the fantastic cabin. The location provides a perfect launch point for exploring the area. We were able to visit both Indiana and Warren Dunes, the fantastic beaches of Lake Michigan, and many fantastic restaurants in New Buffalo and the surrounding area. The cabin itself is a fantastic respite from a long day of play. It was clean and well-appointed with a lovely screened-in back porch for a quiet cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We loved snuggling with the kids in the loft TV room. We'd love to come back again! Thank you so much!

This rental was a great place to get away from home, be safe, and enjoy the numerous outdoor options during this time of being socially and physically distanced. We found this lovely Michiana cottage exceptionally clean and comfortable, well stocked, and a perfect location to enjoy this quiet neighborhood on foot, or wonderful biking ride along the lakeshore. It was a short drive to the Indiana Dunes State & National Parks where we spent a few day trips, and also easy access to the New Buffalo area just over the Michigan line. Sad that the private beach access is closed due to efforts to contain the erosion, but still wonderful had views! Highly Recommend!
"Cute Cabin"
This cabin was cute, clean and had all of the amenities we needed. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of linens, beach towels, etc. I also give the owner kudos for having a nice collection of games and DVDs for us to watch, we spent a lot of time hanging out in the loft. The property manager was responsive to all questions that we had. It is a few blocks from the beach and we rode our bikes there almost daily. The cabin is a bit small, I think it would get crowded if your family is larger than 3. But if you are going to be out and about most of the time, I don't think it is a big deal.
